I love creating interesting sounds. Coming from a background as a musician and sound designer, I like to think I know a thing or two about creating sounds that aren’t just great to listen to in isolation, but are also incredibly useful from a production standpoint.
So, a bit about me. Music has been a huge part of my life ever since I was a child. I was always messing about with computers and technology as a kid, which led to me programming some simple games. Nothing too complex, and – to be fair – they were pretty terrible, but one year my brother picked me up a copy of Protracker for the Atari ST. This began a lifelong fascination with music and, more generally, using computers and synths to create sound.
This fascination led to me studying music production at an undergraduate level at the University of Huddersfield. Self-teaching could only take me so far, and it was here that I got my first paid gigs both as a composer (writing music for a huge cruise liner marketing campaign) and as a sound designer (working with Nucleus SoundLab on Reason-based projects).
In my final year at university I released my first independent solo album, itself a fusion of traditional song-writing and sound design spanning a variety of genres. It was the culmination of everything I loved about creating music. I’ve released subsequent solo albums which have landed placements with the BBC, BMW, GMC, Red Bull, CBS, FOX… the list goes on. Subsequent tunes and production albums have been featured in a variety of TV programmes and film trailers. Regardless of the purpose, I take a huge amount of pride in everything I release.
In the same way that my music is a unique extension of myself, the same is definitely true of the elements that make it up. Fielding SoundWorks was born of the idea that, while there are already plenty of solid sound packs available out there, I wanted to take a more artistic/emotional approach to creating sound. If you want emotive sounds that can take your music up a notch and give your latest tracks a highly polished cinematic flair, you’ve come to the right place.
Fielding SoundWorks is an extension of my life-long passion for music, and I hope you find something here to inspire you to create something incredible.
